Project Pricing

  • Baseline Cost: The $95/m² slab figure is a cost-effective planning allowance within typical Australian guide ranges ($75–$110/m²) for a straightforward plain concrete slab on a flat, accessible site.
  • Standard Thickness: 100mm (4-inch) is a common residential standard for foot traffic and occasional vehicle loads (e.g., driveway use cases).
  • Reinforcement: The baseline often assumes some form of steel reinforcement (mesh or rebar). In some cases this may be an additional $10–$30/m².
  • Thicker Slabs: Heavy-duty applications may require 150mm+, increasing cost per m² due to additional material and labour.
  • Finishes: Decorative finishes (exposed aggregate, polished concrete) can be higher ($100+ up to $300+/m²), largely independent of thickness due to specialised labour and materials.
